A consulate, to my current understanding, is like a smaller branch of an embassy.
The actual/official embassy of Mauritius is known as the 'Mauritius High Commission', which is situated in Canberra. 'High Commission' is a term reserved for situations wherein both the host country and the guest embassy belong to the Commmonwealth.
